Pet Stuff has been a community resource for product knowledge, customer service, and premium pet products. We take pride in helping pet parents help pets lead their best lives. Over the last 30+ years our core focus has been on retailing premium pet products, but now we are looking to expand our in-store offerings to be a one stop store for all our customers’ needs.
We are looking to hire an experienced groomer who not only takes pride in their ability to groom but who also has an entrepreneurial spirit. Someone who wants to take the lead at developing a new grooming business within an established and high traffic independent pet supply retailer. You would work directly with the General Manager to grow the grooming department from infancy to a successful full-service grooming shop.

Able to work well independently or as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail
2+ years of grooming experience
Grooming training certificate preferred but not required
Willing to teach and give feedback
Grooming skills for all breeds and sizes of dogs
Lead the grooming department at Pet Stuff
Help determine pricing and operating procedures for grooming at Pet Stuff
Advise customers on grooming standards, methods, and products for their specific breed.
Be able to complete all functions of a professional grooming shop, including, but not limited to:
Bathing
Grooming
Nail Trims
Ear & Gland Cleaning
Must be able to handle pets of all sizes
Educate & train retail staff basic grooming knowledge.
Mentor any new grooming staff as they come on board
Prioritize safety and well-being of all pets within the grooming department
Responsible for scheduling, greeting, and communication with pet owners about their pet’s grooming service. Provide excellent customer service throughout
Clean and sanitize grooming shop and equipment as necessary
This job is a full-time position. Desired candidate will be able to work a minimum of 35-40 hours per week. Schedule can be flexible.
Sliding commission scale based on experience, performance, and length of employment
Due to the nature of this opportunity, Pet Stuff will supplement wages on a monthly basis for the first year when commissions do not meet a minimum negotiated monthly base salary.
Health insurance for employees working 32+ hours per week
$4,000 Sign on bonus ($1,000 after 90 days, $1,000 after 6 months, $2,000 after 1 year)

Flexible Paid Time Off
Shop supplies paid for including shampoos, conditioners, sprays, etc. You must provide clippers, brushes, blades, trimmers, etc.
